About Us

We are an eclectic bunch of swimmers who swim in different workout groups and clubs.  Some USMS AMAM members swim for fitness and some swimmers compete in local, regional, national and international meets.  All swimmers have the same goal:  to have fun!

Masters programs throughout the AMAM region have the same goals:

· Help swimmers develop a passion for the sport and a desire to participate in it as a lifelong fitness activity.

· Create an environment where all levels of swimmers are welcome.

· Help foster a sense of camaraderie and to make workouts social and fun

· Offer the option of competition—whether that is team time trials, open water swims, local swim meets or Masters nationals or International meets.

· Help swimmers to reach their goals.

Masters programs are mainly for fitness and fun.  You probably need to be able to swim freestyle (the crawl stroke) at least 25 yards without stopping.  Workouts range from 60—90 minutes, you should expect to swim for much of that time.

Workouts may include swimming freestyle, breaststroke, backstroke and butterfly.  However if you don’t know how to do those, or can’t do them, you are still welcome to join the workouts—the coaches will help you learn.
